Kai’s 1st Birthday – It’s all in the detail
We recently planned Kai’s 1st Birthday Party at Zen Garden. Unfortunately it rained all day, but luckily that didn’t dampen the mood. Our candy bar themed party kept all the kids in high spirits and the abundance of cocktails and food fuelled the adults all afternoon.
The invite was a candy box filled with chocolates & sweets.
Flowers play a big part in all our celebrations, so of course we had lots of beautiful blue roses at the party. The theme of blue, white & silver followed through all the décor, from giant helium balloons, to candy and of course the cake!
The kids had their very own sit down supper on mini tables and the cutest little blue chairs. – (Which some adults decided to test during the party! – luckily they didn’t break) The kids feasted on mini pizzas, classic fries, chicken nuggets and mini sausages.
The birthday cake was so yummy – made with 7 layers of vanilla, chocolate and blue sponge, covered with baby blue butter icing. The bottom of the cake was topped with colorful candy pops, and the giant lollipops were added to the top to finish it off. (This cake recipe will be posted soon)
Our adult cocktails were also themed around candy, as lets face it, we are all kids when it comes to sweets and this was definitely proven at this party.
We had a great time planning the little guys special day, and think in all honesty, the party was more for us then for him. We added heaps of detail and quirky touches throughout and we hope this inspires you to be creative with your party planning!
